Mumbai: A major update has come in for the fans of cult Bollywood film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Director Zoya Akhtar has shared a crucial detail about its sequel, which is in the works fifteen years after the release of the movie. According to reports, she confirmed that it will be made although no official decision has been made yet.

Says Zoya Akhtar, We are working on it

The film's director, Zoya Akhtar said in an interview that they are working on the sequel, however it is in very initial stages. She clearly stated that they are not sure about the direction the film will take but what is sure is that both the script and story would justify the feel and impact of the first part and the story would suit the time.

Will Hrithik, Farhan and Abhay be seen together once again?

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara starring Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol as Arjun, Imran and Kabir respectively released in 2011 and stole many hearts with the storyline of their trip to Spain and self - discovery. The film which revolved around the life of three friends and their journey in dealing with love, life, fear and friendship proved to be a cult classic of its own kind.

No official confirmation has been made whether the same stars or if even any of them would be present in the second part, however one can certainly not ignore the kind of impact the trio created together.

A lead to the sequel came from an ad

Last year Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol appeared together in a tourism campaign, and the visuals got many believing that it might be a teaser to Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2. It was, in fact, later confirmed to be a promotion advertisement and it even caused quite a stir on social media. Zoya Akhtar was quoted saying "I was already getting angry DMs (private messages) on social media saying that what is this and why are we making it if the story isn't fitting them etc."

The journey of these friends might see a return after 15 years

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara released in 2011 and over the years became a cult favorite amongst youth, establishing itself a niche for its message about friendship, love, overcoming fear and living life King Size.

The announcement that Zoya Akhtar is all set to start the work on ZNMD 2 is definitely great news for all the fans out there but the official details about the plot of the film, shooting schedule and the release dates are yet to be revealed.
