Bollywood's most awaited venture, 'Ramayana', has been in the headlines for its humungous budget and all-star cast. Since the reports claimed that the film would cost a total of 4,000 crore to produce, fans across the globe as well as on social media have been going all out speculations regarding its production costs. And now, actor Yash (playing the role of Ravana) finally cleared the air for everyone.

What does 4,000 crore cover?

Yash said that 4,000 crore is not the cost to make just a part of the film. It includes both the parts, release costs and promotion costs involved with the film.

According to the actor, a lot of misconceptions are floating around in terms of its budget and he wants to clarify it today. "I just want to clear this misunderstanding and say that the film is divided into 2 parts. So the 4,000 crore amount covers the total project cost."

The film is following Hollywood 'math' to make 'Ramayana': Yash

Yash cited the example of Hollywood film sets and how such big ventures also involve immense expenses for its release and promotions that do not add up to the production cost for each segment. He shared: "If a big venture around the globe is made, then they invest huge sums of money for its release and promotion apart from its production. The same model is being followed here and when you are trying to build a globally loved character, your market for profit is also global."

The character of Lord Ram is being played by Ranbir Kapoor, Mata Sita by Sai Pallavi, and Ravana by Yash.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, 'Ramayana' is being made in 2 parts and is being touted as a visual spectacle with world-class technicians, visual effects and a stellar cast including Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita and Yash as Ravana.

Why is it going to be special? According to a report by Bollywood Hungama. "Ranbir Kapoor-Sai Pallavi-Yash film, Ramayana has been priced at 4,000 crore,". 'Ramayana' is being built as the most ambitious project Bollywood has ever witnessed; right from the casting to the technicians, everything about it stands to be international.
