According to reports, the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a show-cause notice to all three actors regarding the 'Vimal Elaichi' advertisement. According to the FDA, this advertisement could be interpreted as an indirect or surrogate promotion of a pan masala brand banned in the state.
An answer is to be provided within 15 days According to the notice issued by the Maharashtra FDA, Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff will have to provide a written answer within 15 days.
They have also been asked to discontinue the promotional campaign of this ad and to remove the promotional content related to it from their respective social media profiles.
Why has the Vimal Elaichi ad come under question?
Let us tell you, the FDA has found that in the advertisements of Vimal Elaichi, such use has been made, due to which the consumers are led to believe that this ad has been shown for the Vimal pan masala. The FDA has expressed concern that this advertisement might indirectly be promoting a brand that has been banned.
Documents sought from three stars With regard to the Vimal Elaichi ad, the Maharashtra FDA has also sought a lot of details from the three actors, such as their endorsement agreements, campaign briefs, proof of payment and information about the advertising agency.
Along with this, the department has also asked whether this product called Vimal Elaichi is available in the market on its own or the advertisement has been made to promote the advertisement of a banned product in lieu of its advertisement. Pan masala was banned in Maharashtra It is reported that the administration of Maharashtra has been carrying out various campaigns and actions against prohibited pan masala and other products which contains tobacco and nicotine. In the similar vein, the said action is being taken by the FDA.
The administration will take further action if Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff do not respond or their answer is not satisfactory within 15 days.
