Mumbai: There's an air of excitement in B-town as a massive box office collision is in the cards for August 14th as Sunny Deol's Batwara 1947 and Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan 2 are set to release around Independence Day. Both the film's have been much awaited and is all set to bring audiences to the theatres with anticipation. But the question that arises is, 'Who among the two will lead the opening day race and clock a bigger number at the box office?'

Sunny Deol's Batwara 1947 and Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan 2 will hit the screens together on August 14th, 2026. While Sunny Deol starrer Batwara 1947 is mounted on a background of India-Pakistan partition and laced with patriotism, Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan 2 is a romanticmusicalactionthriller. Both films are releasing at such a time when people plan their vacations in and around Independence Day. The long weekend usually helps the films garner better footfalls on the first few days of the release.

According to Koimoi estimates, Batwara 1947 is predicted to clock between 10 to 13 crores on the opening day, if the movie does not meet the above estimation then at any point with positive audience views, it can cross expectations.

Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan 2 is all set to make fans nostalgic about the 2007 released Awarapan that had received phenomenal response from moviegoers for Emraan Hashmi's character and his soothing numbers. The film is expected to give all new kinds of fresh perspectives and introduce a new version of an evergreen number from Awarapan, 'Tera Mera Rishta'. As per the Koimoi report, the Emraan Hashmi starrer could gather a revenue of 10 to 15 crores on the opening day but, only after release it will be clearer that who has a greater lead between the two films.

There may be only marginal differences in the figures collected by either of the film at box office on their opening day; there is really no significant gap observed between the two projects at the moment according to estimates given by a publication. Batwara 1947 may do best if it is made effective by taking full advantage of the Indian patriotic essence during the long independence weekend. Whereas Awarapan 2 stands to gain by giving moviegoers a treat for their ears with amazing music that also helps to increase the fandom. The sequel factor also has to be a boost.

However, there will be quite an interesting battle as only after release of the movie on August 14th we will get to witness the results at box office for both of the films. As per estimation of Koimoi, Batwara 1947 is expected to mint 10 to 13 crores, while on the other hand, Awarapan 2 is expecting 10 to 15 crores on its release date.
