Punjab Police Bust ISI Terror Module in Amritsar; Two Arrested

Amritsar Rural Police have dismantled an ISI-backed terror and cross-border arms smuggling network, arresting two suspects and seizing rifles, pistols, and cartridges, Punjab DGP confirmed.

Initial investigations indicate the accused maintained contact with foreign handlers via social media and were actively engaged in radicalization efforts, spreading anti-India and anti-police propaganda.

In a post on X, Punjab DGP stated that an FIR has been lodged at PS Gharinda, Amritsar Rural, and further investigation is underway to trace both forward and backward linkages to dismantle the entire network. He reiterated Punjab Police’s zero-tolerance stance against terrorism, illegal arms trafficking, and organized crime. The crackdown led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle with two magazines and 36 live cartridges, along with three advanced Glock 9mm pistols.
As per the official release, the arrested individuals have been identified as Mahavir, also known as Kaka, and Manpreet, also known as Mani—both hailing from SBS Nagar, Punjab. During the operation, police recovered a 9mm Glock pistol along with live cartridges from their possession.
