Sanon also addressed speculation about whether the film continues the story of the 2012 hit Cocktail starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty. She clarified that while Cocktail 2 carries the same vibe, it is not a direct sequel. “It’s a franchise,” she explained, adding that the new narrative introduces fresh characters and dynamics.
“The story involves two girls and one boy. The tone and atmosphere are comparable, yet the narrative and characters are entirely distinct. It’s a cocktail of emotions, camaraderie, drama, music, and stunning locations,” she said.
