Filming Window Locked: Kartik Aaryan’s Captain India Aviation Drama To Roll Cameras Between May–July

After a prolonged pause, Kartik Aaryan’s Captain India is back on track, with Shimit Amin stepping in as director and production finally taking flight this summer.

Kartik Aaryan’s Captain India Back On Track
Originally announced in 2021 with Hansal Mehta attached as director, Captain India is finally gearing up for production this summer. After years of silence, the aviation drama is now moving forward under filmmaker Shimit Amin, best known for Chak De! India (2007).
Industry chatter had sparked rumours of Amin’s exit, but insiders confirm he remains firmly on board. “The delays led to speculation, but the film is on track. Shimit is directing, and Kartik will begin work once he wraps his current T-Series project,” a source clarified.
The makers are eyeing a filming window between May and July, marking a fresh chapter for the long-awaited project. The first look, unveiled back in July 2021, had generated buzz, and fans can now expect the cameras to finally roll after five years of uncertainty.

Kartik Aaryan’s Upcoming Lineup
Kartik Aaryan was last seen in Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri (2026), directed by Sameer Vidwans. Up next, he’s set to headline the high-octane action thriller Naagzilla, slated for release in August 2026. Alongside this, he is working on an untitled musical saga with Anurag Basu and Sreeleela, expected to arrive later in the year. The projects follow the massive success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, keeping Aaryan firmly in the spotlight with a diverse slate of films.
