Mumbai: Janhvi Kapoor has further bolstered her presence in the South Indian film industry. After co-starring with Ram Charan, the Bollywood actress is back with a major project from the South. Reports have emerged that she is on her way to debut in South Indian Cinema via OTT.

According to the report, her upcoming Tamil web series will be released on the OTT platform Netflix and will be entitled ‘Kurthi’.

Janhvi Kapoor to make South OTT debut with ‘Kurthi’ Janhvi Kapoor made her acting debut in 2018. Having established herself in the Hindi film industry, she later made a foray into the South Indian film industry. After working with big stars like Jr NTR and Ram Charan in many films, the actress is ready to set her footprint on the OTT space in the Southern Film Industry. It is learned that Janhvi Kapoor has been roped for a Tamil web series titled ‘Kurthi’ to be released on Netflix.

Filmmaker Sarkunam has reportedly been brought in to direct the project.

Details such as the story of the web series, other starcast, and the release date are still hidden from the public. More film work in the South post ‘Peddi’ Janhvi Kapoor recently made headlines for her film ‘Peddi’ with Ram Charan. Directed by Buchi Babu, ‘Peddi’ was released in theatres in 2026 in a major way.

In the film, Ram Charan played the character of Peddi while Janhvi played Achiyamma. It is estimated that the movie, with a total budget of Rs.350 million has achieved Rs.366 million globally in box office collections. Following Peddi, Kurthi is considered another large endeavor in Janhvi Kapoor’s Southern Film career.

But this time round, the diva will be gracing screen rather than movie.

Also in films Janhvi Kapoor would be in.. In addition to the ‘Kurthi’ project in the south, Janhvi Kapoor’s lineup includes the films ‘Dostana 2’ and ‘Lag Ja Gale’. She will also reportedly be back with Jr. NTR for ‘Devara Part 2’.

Report also suggests that an untitled horror film by Karan Johar may come, which would feature Janhvi.

It’s quite clear that Janhvi is continuing to work towards a strong presence within the Southern Indian film industry after her role in ‘Peddi.’
