Amidst divorce with Gaurav Khanna, Akanksha Chamola takes a big step; wants to ditch ‘Khanna’ surname from Instagram

Mumbai: TV actress and ‘Lock Upp 2’ contestant Akanksha Chamola has been grabbing headlines due to her personal life lately. Amid rumours of her divorce with Gaurav Khanna, Akanksha has made a significant move for her social media account. The actress is willing to get her Instagram username, which contains the name of her ex-husband, removed; however, she cannot change the username of the verified account by herself due to restrictions. Hence, she is seeking help from Meta and Instagram.

Difficult to change Instagram username

Akanksha Chamola's current Instagram username includes the surnames of Gaurav Khanna as well. Amidst their divorce, she wants to change it as per her own name. But she is having difficulty changing theusername as her account is verified.

Akanksha appealed through Instagram Story in which she has taggedMeta, MetaIndiaandInstagram. In the clip she has stated that sheis trying to change herusernameandis not able to because of the restrictions.

Akanksha has sought assistance from Meta

"Hi Meta team… I have tried changing my Instagram username numerous times but due to verification restrictions, it’s just not changing. I really want to make it my original name AkankshaChamola and not carry a surname along. Request you guys to help me sort this issue out ASAP." read Akanksha's request to Meta team. This move is being interpreted because there is constanth rumour in connection between Akanksha and Gaurav Khanna as both of them are in a process of splitting and will soon undergo divorce.

What Akanksha had stated about her Divorce:

Earlier in a conversation on TV show, Akanksha Chamola on ‘Lock Upp 2’ had informed the audience about her Divorce from Gaurav Khanna and said both of them are living away from each other for last one year. Later, she clarified that divorce is a process where only the final papers need signing. She denied that this is a part of TRP stunt by both.

Akanksha said, “No this isn’t a TRP game, it's not about any publicity.

My husband Gaurav has hired an advocate for it. Their legal team works for it.”

Gaurav and Akanksha tied the knot in the year 2016

Gaurav Khanna and Akanksha Chamola met on a TV show's audition. After dating each other for few years, they got married in Kanpur on November 24, 2016. The two have been married for almost 8 years now.

She is now inclined towards changing her name from Khanna to Chamola
