Breaking: Spanish Remake of Drishyam to Begin Filming This June

Back in February 2024, it was revealed that Drishyam would be adapted into multiple foreign languages, a landmark move confirmed by producers Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak. The duo had secured international remake rights for both Drishyam 1 and Drishyam 2 from Aashirvad Cinemas. At the time, remakes in the USA and Korea were already underway, while talks for a Spanish version were still being finalized. Nearly two years later, the wait is over—plans for the Spanish remake have now been locked, and the film is set to go on floors in the coming months. This marks another significant step in taking the acclaimed thriller to global audiences.

According to a Bombay Times report, producer Rodrigo Espinel confirmed at the ongoing International Film Festival of Delhi that the Spanish remake of Drishyam will begin filming in June. Espinel explained that the project came together when his partner, a Mexican producer who had acquired the IP rights, reached out to collaborate. He noted that Spain offers excellent tax incentives and that the story adapts seamlessly to Spanish culture. Work on the film has already begun, with a Spanish director at the helm and a leading Spanish cast attached to the project
