Mumbai: South Indian star actor Dhanush is back in the limelight not for any movie release, but an inspiring speech he made to students at his former school. During his recent visit to alma mater to inaugurate a newly-constructed academic building funded by him, the ‘Raanjhanaa’ actor spoke about education and mother tongue which has since gone viral.

The national award-winning actor Dhanush visited the Thai Sathya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, his former alma mater, and there he inaugurated a new building constructed by the actor from his earnings. He also met all his teachers and classmates from school days there and addressed the students as well.

Speaking at the event for the students of his school, he asserted that one must have education along with learning to read and write their own language or mother tongue. It’s ‘disgraceful to not know or be unable to read and write Tamil’, he mentioned. Staying attached to his roots and culture is as important as modern day learning, the actor felt.

Dhanush asked students to study

He advised students to learn to pursue studies not to attain a job but to learn more as human beings. “There’s immense respect to all teachers. Schools and teachers do much in our successful journey.”
