AR Rahman's Son in Accident: Porsche Collides With Cab In Chennai, AR Ameen Suffers Minor Injuries

MUMBAI: Singer AR Ameen, son of legendary music composer AR Rahman, was involved in a road accident on Monday morning. The Porsche he was travelling in reportedly hit a Wagon-R cab while he was traveling along with his friend. Both had minor injuries.

Both were rushed to hospital for treatment and were discharged after first aid.

Accident occurs at 3:30 AM on early Monday morning in Chennai As per reports, the accident happened on Jawaharlal Nehru Road in Guindy area, around 3:30 AM on Monday near Olympia Tech Park. Ameen was on his way to Guindy with his friend when the Porsche car he was in, collided with a Wagon-R cab. As per initial information with the police, Wagon R came from the side road onto the main road, resulting in the collision between the two vehicles. However, the exact cause will be ascertained after investigation, the police said.

Ameen and friend had minor injuries The car accident that took place on Monday morning was treated with urgency by medical teams at the hospital.

After getting first aid, both were discharged. A passenger travelling in the cab was also injured and taken to hospital where they received treatment and were discharged from there, authorities said. Fortunately, there was no serious injury to any person involved in the accident, police said.

The two vehicles involved in the incident have been impounded. Police begins investigation The Traffic Police at Adyar has launched an investigation into the matter. Police are assessing the cause of the collision including high speed in the incident and a case has already been registered under relevant sections.

Music composer AR Ameen is son of celebrated music composer AR Rahman. He began his singing career in 2015 with Mani Ratnam's film 'O Kadhal Kanmani'. AR Ameen has worked on multiple music projects across many languages since his singing debut. In addition to music scores and composition work, AR Ameen has also performed alongside his famous father at numerous concerts.

These past few years, Ameen has also focused on composing both independent musical pieces and projects for the silver screen.
