Ram Kapoor opened up why ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’ ended: ‘I was struggling with depression, consumed alcohol on the sets’

Television star Ram Kapoor got really open in a conversation about the darkest part of his life. He recently had a deep talk on the Lock Upp 2 set with Kangana Ranaut about how his show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain ended because of his health issues and how much depression he went through during the show. During this interaction, Ram stated that how his change in attitude on the set resulted in the show ending.
During ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain,’ I experienced the worst depression
While recalling a low phase in his life on Lock Upp 2, TV celebrity Ram Kapoor said that things were becoming difficult for him, and he was struggling with physical health as well as mentally, making it the worst times of his life. The Bade Achhe Lagte Hain star was living his healthiest life now. “During ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain,’ I went through the worst depression of my life,” said Ram. While his Bade Achhe Lagte Hain role made him a household name, Ram has revealed that off-camera, things were quite difficult. His weight issue led to certain health problems. Ram stated on Kangana Ranaut’s Lock Upp 2 that he was leading a certain lifestyle. I would see my doctor and was in medical condition. Doctors told him that “at the rate I was leading my life, in the next six months, I won’t survive”.

According to the Bade Achhe Lagte Hain actor, this mental disorder resulted in changes in his on-screen persona, for which he eventually ended up into major conflicts and disagreements with his co-stars. Ram was having certain personality changes that resulted in conflicts. Kapoor admitted on a television show, “I had become a very bad person. I used to arrive on set six hours late for shoots, drink alcohol during filming and speak very rudely to people. I had become someone who I’m still ashamed to remember.” He expressed that he was disappointed in the man he had transformed into and even today he feel very regretful and sorry thinking about those days.

The actor acknowledged guilt over his erratic behavior while shooting for the show and admitted that this could have possibly even led to its end. After all the difficult phase, however, Kapoor mentioned that his children are the only ones who helped him become present. “My children motivate me that” they were his motivation, “and in many instances helped me bounce back and reach where I am today,” he concluded, “I’m very happy with how things have turned out”.
