Rajpal Yadav Cheque Bounce Case: Rajpal Yadav targets his trolls; says he can't be bought for money

Mumbai: Actor and comedian Rajpal Yadav has recently landed in news for all the wrong reasons of a cheque bounce case and his financial struggle. Going through the worst of finances now, the actor had revealed to media about how people are judging him, his whole being and his life for the cheque bounce case.

"No one can buy me for money"

Saying he can't afford being Judged on the entire length of his career, Rajpal Yadav said that just because he's facing some financial difficulties, he cannot let his work being belittled and that is unjust to his more than three decades of career. He told media that from 2013 to 2026 he suffered with almost Rs 200-250 crore in loss and has lost the chance to fly abroad with tours during this span. He added that his career and the art in itself cannot be judged for monetary value and it is something that his fans will never judge him for.

"He defined himself as an "art student" of the Indian film industry and said, No one can purchase me for 5 crore, 10 crore and not even for 250 crore. I am just a student of art, nothing more should be judged by that." The actor said that all these things do not define his career; however, his work and contribution as an artist does.

The artist is still surrounded by fans at airports

He went on to say, a huge crowd still stops him at airports to take a selfie. That people haven't forgotten him, or the work, and nobody can question a years-old career on the basis of some financial struggle, the actor added to the interview.

What is the cheque bounce case?

The dispute began when Rajpal Yadav took out a loan for Rs. 5 crore approximately in 2012 for his film 'Ata Pata Lapatta'. That escalated to Rs. 9 crore with the payment for it being due. He was also jailed for it once and later his punishment was cut to 3 months from 6 months by the Delhi High Court, while confirming his conviction in seven other cheque bounce cases in July 2026.

The actor had finally said in the interview that he doesn't consider the issue as one 'of money' anymore and will continue work moving forth with all other issues being left behind.
