NCERT Developing Revised Textbooks for Classes 10 to 12
News : The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is working on the preparation of revised textbooks for Classes 10 to 12. Education Minister Pralhad Joshi informed that the preparation work is being done on a mission mode.
In this vein, NCERT continues its process to update school education teaching and learning materials from time to time based on the needs of the education. In our country, schools often follow textbook curriculum issued by NCERT, and students are dependent on it for preparing for the board exams.
Changes in text books can cause many problems for schools and students and for teachers. The revised books are also expected to contain newer, innovative teachings to impart conceptual clarity and add relevance for the students.
We can expect many notifications about new books to be coming from NCERT, about when the changes in books would begin to be implemented, and what classes would see the first changes.
NCERT’s move to revamp textbooks comes amidst continued changes and reforms being implemented under the umbrella of National Education policy for school education across India. Teachers are expected to play an increased role as well to ensure the students adapt to the new changes brought into the curriculum.
