Big Feat for Indian Women's Doubles pair in 11 Years. This is the first instance since almost 11 years that a women's doubles pair of India has been able to reach the quarter finals at World Championships. Before this the Indian women's doubles pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa made it to the quarter finals in the year 2015.
Impressive comeback after injury This tournament has special meaning for Treesa Jolly who was suffering from a heel injury and was on rehabilitation for a long period. Since making comeback Treesa and Gayatri pair has played Indonesia Open and US Open, apart from that earlier this month they have been crowned with Philippines International Challenge title. Now all hopes will be pinned on the quarter finals where both are to face China.
