Brahmastra 2: Ranbir Kapoor to play double role; Deepika Padukone might enter the foray, Alia Bhatt to reprise 'Isha'.

MUMBAI: A massive update has come regarding Brahmastra 2, the second instalment of Ayan Mukerji's popular film franchise. As per reports, Ranbir Kapoor might play a double role (Shiva and Dev), while Alia Bhatt will reprise the role of 'Isha', while there is news that Deepika Padukone has been approached to play Amrita in the film.

Shooting is expected to start in April 2027

Reports suggest that Ranbir Kapoor might get into Brahmastra 2 work after finishing up with Ramayana's shooting. The shooting for the film is expected to start in April 2027 and in the present stage of the film, work on its script and pre-production is going on.

Ranbir Kapoor to play double role

Ranbir Kapoor played Shiva in Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva, now there are reports that in the second part of the film, Ranbir's role will be amplified; he will be playing Dev along with Shiva. In reports, it is said that the script of the film is going in such a way that the story will become even more thrilling.

Deepika Padukone to play 'Amrita'

There's no other talking topic for Brahmastra 2 than Deepika Padukone's potential entry in the film. It is being reported that Ayan Mukerji and his team have opened up talks with Deepika to essay the role of 'Amrita' but still, any official announcement on the Same is awaited. In fact, glimpse of Deepika playing Amrita in the first part was visible; in one of his previous interviews back in 2022, Alia Bhatt herself named Deepika as her pick for Amrita's role.

Alia Bhatt to reprise 'Isha'

Alia Bhatt will too play her part in Brahmastra 2, we'll see Alia Bhatt playing her role as Isha. As with each film in the franchise, Alia and Ranbir's characters (Isha and Shiva) will evolve through the narrative. Brahmstra: Part One - Shiva established the Astraverse

The first instalment, Brahmstra: Part One - Shiva was released in 2022 and starred Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, alongside a stellar cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy. It was the first in the planned trilogy, creating the "Astraverse".

An official confirmation on Brahmstra 2's release date and Deepika Padukone's role in the film is still awaited but with the return of Ranbir and Alia along with Deepika's entry in it, it seems that the film will indeed create a stir in the Bollywood box office.
