Mumbai: Actress Preity Zinta, who is marking her comeback to big screen after almost eight years with the movie 'Batwara 1947', has revealed that she has to learn cooking, sewing and how a housewife functions in her house to portray her character in the movie authenticity. She believes that women in 1947 did not have the kind of choices when it comes to their lives and work like now. Special preparation for role In an interview, Preity explained that her role in the movie is of a lady whose world is confined to her home and family.
Therefore, she took special preparation to learn how to cook food, sew clothes and about the household tasks of a woman at that time, said Preity, adding that for portraying such characters one needs to experience it rather than learn the dialogues and lines.
Women Had No Choices in 1947 Sharing about the preparation of her role, Preity said: In that time and era women did not have the right to choose something for their careers and their lives, like we have today. She also said that women's focus were only on family during the year 1947. Return To Big Screen After Eight Years The period drama is Preity Zinta's first film after eight years. She added that during the sabbatical she spent her time raising her kids and her family.
The actress is returning to the viewers with this film.
